Led by Devin Tillis' 15 points, the UC Irvine Anteaters defeated the Kennesaw State Owls 76-59 at the Western Slam. The Anteaters are now 6-0 on the season, while the Owls moved to 5-2. Adrian Wooley led Kennesaw State with 19 points.

Led by Connor Kochera's 22 points, the Davidson Wildcats defeated the Providence Friars 69-58 at the Battle 4 Atlantis. The Wildcats improved to 5-1 with the win and the Friars fell to 5-2. Jayden Pierre scored 14 points for Providence.

DETROIT — Forty-nine minutes had passed after Thursday’s game at Ford Field had ended and six minutes had elapsed since Chicago Bears coach Matt Eberflus began his postgame news conference. It was then, and only then, that Eberflus finally indicated that he was still somewhat attached to reality.

Drew Lock finally got a start at quarterback for the New York Giants, and helped them get their first lead in seven games. Then his two turnovers led to touchdowns for the Dallas Cowboys in a 27-20 loss. New York is 2-10 with a seven-game losing streak. Lock became the third different Giants starting quarterback in three games. Daniel Jones was benched and released, and Tommy DeVito developed a sore arm. Lock was 21-of-32 passing for 178 yards with an interception. He got sacked six times, fumbling on one of those. He ran four times for 57 yards and a touchdown.

Walter Clayton Jr. scored 21 points and Alijah Martin added 16 as No. 18 Florida beat Wake Forest 75-58 in the ESPN Events Invitational on Thursday. Florida (7-0) opened the second half with a 10-0 run to add to its 32-28 halftime lead. Cayton scored six points in the first half and 15 in the second half. Hunter Sallis and Cameron Hildreth each had 15 points for Wake Forest.

SAN DIEGO — N.C. State’s first test against a ranked team this season brought the same result, against the same team, that ended the Wolfpack’s magical men’s college basketball season last April.

The Broncos broke the game open with a 24-3 run to turn a one-point deficit into a 20-point lead with less than five minutes to play. Frankie Collins led the Horned Frogs with 15 points.Stewart had 14 points and Mahle 11 as Santa Clara took a 34-27 lead. Collins scored the first five points of the second half to pull TCU with one and his jumper tied the game at 36. His 3-pointer gave the Horned Frogs the first of two short-lived one-point leads and then the Broncos reeled off 10 straight. Brenton Knapper’s 3-pointer made it 50-41 at the midpoint.

Trey Kaufman-Renn scored 15 of his 22 points points in the second half and Camden Heide added 15 for No. 13 Purdue, which beat N.C. State 71-61 in the opening game of the Rady Children’s Invitational. It was a rematch of last season’s Final Four game, which Purdue won 63-50 before losing to UConn in the championship game. Braden Smith had 11 points and and Fletcher Loyer 10 for Purdue, which improved to 6-1.

Khalif Battle led a balanced attack with 16 points, Ryan Nembhard had a double-double and No. 3 Gonzaga used a first-half blitz to beat No. 14 Indiana 89-73 in a consolation round game of the Battle 4 Atlantis. The Bulldogs led by two with under eight minutes to go in the first half when five players scored in a 16-0 run in less than 4 1/2 minutes and the Hoosiers never got closer than 15 points the rest of the way. Nembhard had 11 points and a career-high 13 assists for the Bulldogs. Omar Ballo had 25 points for Indiana, which lost its second straight.
