For the 15th and final time this spring, Texas A&M football suited up and went against one another in Saturday's annual Maroon and White Game, a split-squad game that the White won 19-7.
There wasn't a lot of offense to speak of, but that was for good reason: the Aggies' defensive line, filled with newcomers and some old faces, wreaked havoc up front on Saturday. Both squads combined for 12 sacks, highlighted by freshman Marco Jones' five. In all, six different players registered a sack in the game.
Offensively, QB1 Marcel Reed finished 18 of 28 for 213 yards one touchdown pass and one interception.

New wide receivers Mario Craver, Jonah Wilson, and KC Concepcion led the way, collecting 78, 41, and 64 yards, respectively.
On the ground, senior running back EJ Smith tallied 21 yards on six carries.
This was our game-long thread from Kyle Field:
Texas A&M spring game: Maroon Team and White Team score updates
Final: White squad 19, Maroon 7
3Q, 7:41 - White squad matches to extend lead
The maroon squad was facing a 4th and 1 and came up empty-handed as Will Lee III darted in to stop them behind the line of scrimmage. From there, the White squad was able to orchestrate a two-play 28-yard drive capped off by a Miles O'Neil 19-yard touchdown pass to Izaiah Williams.
3Q, 11:16 - Maroon squad strikes back with a TD
There was no offense to speak up for Reed and the Maroon offense, but all that changed at the start of the second half. The Reed-led squad drove 75 yards on eight plays and was capped off by a 15-yard pass from Reed to Ashton Bethel-Roman for the game's first touchdown. PAT is good, 9-7.
Halftime: White team 9, Maroon 0
2Q, 7:04 - White squad pushes lead to 2-possession
There haven't been any touchdowns scored, but the White squad keeps separating itself with field goals. This time, a drive led by redshirt freshman quarterback Paxton Land went six plays and 39 yards before a Liam Padron field goal from 52 yards out pushed the lead to 9-0.
2Q, 12:59 - White adds 3 more
It's been an all white squad thus far. A 49-yard field goal added three more points to push the lead to 6-0.
1Q, 9:22 - White squad strikes first
A good start for the White squad, led by QB Miles O'Neil, that ends with a 34-yard field goal to take the early 3-0 lead. The drive went 13 plays, 58 yards, while going 2-for-3 on third down.
